Cycling in Ireland

Ireland In A Nutshell

I only spent half a day in Ireland. I liked what I saw though.

Where and When I Went

Map of Ireland

11th - 12th August 2013

Ireland's Scenery

Green and lumpy. Ask someone who's seen more of it.

Scenery

Ireland's Road Quality

A nice network of country lanes although often with gradients more suited to motorbikes.

Road

Ireland's Accommodation & Costs

I only stayed at one B&B. It cost €40.

Language

A Father Ted version of English.

Neighbouring Countries

Just the United Kingdom, with whom there has never ever been any issue of any kind in the history of the universe.

Reasons To Go To Ireland

The greenness, great pubs, the craic.

I've cycled Ireland 4 times, in total 11 weeks. All regions west and South of Dublin are worthwhile cycling in - so almost the entire country. And what's best: it looks similar to the UK, but is more beautiful, much better roads and indeed polite and careful car drivers...
